The piano business in Taiwan has been affected since January, but not by a lot. Due to the early precautions such as setting infrared thermal imaging cameras in all mass transportations and wearing masks in public areas, the society functions properly. 

台灣的鋼琴產業從一月起便受到影響，但不至於太嚴重。因為在大眾運輸系統有放置紅外線熱像儀與公共場所需戴口罩等早期預防措施，社會運作的就如同平常一樣。

The main concern for piano technicians now would be how we protect clients and ourselves throughout the whole service. Most of the time, except for cancelled concerts, technicians are still able to tune and regulate pianos in clients' houses. However, we proceed the following necessary steps to protect both parties and these measures are also practiced by most piano stores and other industries.

鋼琴技師此刻主要的擔憂是我們如何在提供服務時也能同時保護客戶與自己。除了取消的演奏會外，技師大部分時間仍然可以去客戶家調音與調整。然而，我們會採許以下的措施以保護雙方，而這些方式也可在其他的鋼琴店家與行業看到。

1. Make sure there are no residents who travelled abroad in the last 14 days or in quarantine at home. 

2. Check if forehead temperature reading exceeds 37.5℃ with thermal sensors, before going into houses.

3. Wear a mask and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after servicing. 

1.確認無人在14天內有出國旅遊史或居家隔離。

2. 進入房屋前，確認使用體溫計檢查額溫是否超過攝氏37.5度。

3.戴上口罩並使用酒精成份為主的潔手液。

On the other hand, Taiwanese Piano Technician Association has postponed meetings and seminars to June in order to lower the risk of community spread. And a special bailout program can be applied for via Technicians' Labor Union. 

另一方面，為了降低社區傳播風險，台灣鋼琴技師協會已延後所有會議和研討會至六月。特別紓困金也能透過調音師工會來個別申請。

With the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, this collaboration of 14 countries articulate how the pandemic changed each country‘s piano business, instant reactions from professional organizations such as governments and labor unions, and how techs tackled continuous challenges. Being a minority that is excluded from WHO for a half century, Taiwan’s experiences of handling pandemic effectively have become invaluable public goods for others to learn. Taiwan can help and Taiwan is helping.

今年2、3月與歐盟鋼琴製造者協會（European Union of Piano Maker Associations）和幾位技師討論疫情時，大家想了解彼此社會的受影響現況、政府工會的因應措施以及產業的應對方式，因此在夏季刊推出了一個包含台灣在內的14國疫情短篇報導。
