Why you wanted to be an examiner?
It’s all about being helpful, team work tradition and volunteering.
While studying and taking my RPT exams at NBSS, I was amazed and intrigued by how examiners set standards and coped with different aspects of the exams. I also appreciated the feedback from my examiners and realized how much work they have donated to prepare for all of the exams. I respected their professionalism and the heart behind what they do and started thinking about the possibility of becoming an examiner.
I believe that volunteering is a vital part of any field of work. Broadly speaking, volunteering benefits not just your heart, but also the trade and the society overall. I fly from Taiwan to the convention every year with the side effects of a serious headache and a running nose; I am completely burned-out economically, physically, and mentally after a 24-hour flight. But the thought of the chance to contribute to something I enjoy and to possibly communicate with a future generation of technicians miraculously refreshes my body and soul.
My passion for piano technology has shaped me into a better person, and by becoming an examiner, I have gradually learned more about the beauty of humanity and the weight of one’s soul. Thanks to all the examiners who have helped me to become a better piano technician. The depth of my gratitude is beyond measure.
